A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Andres Mendez has called Miami home for over 25 years, shaping his creative journey with a global perspective. His career began at top agencies in his native Caracas, where his role quickly expanded beyond Graphic Design. He gained practical experience in production, managing the critical logistics and permitting for commercials and photo shoots for prestigious brands.

For over 7 years, Andres led a dynamic design studio, mastering production for large format printing, offset printing, and custom merchandise construction. During this time, he empowered major companies across the U.S. and the Caribbean to achieve their vision.

Today, Andres channels his expertise into his own venture, KOI STUDIO. As the driving force behind this rapidly growing boutique agency, he delivers innovative solutions to a diverse clientele, from startups to corporations, making Koi Studio a significant creative force in Miami and across the Americas.

Beyond KOI STUDIO, Andres applies the same discipline and passion to his personal life. He is an avid CrossFit athlete, triathlete, and motorcycle enthusiast. This drive is matched by a deep commitment to animal welfare, from rescuing homeless pets to running his own small wildlife sanctuary.

Katherine Malaga

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Katherine Malaga is the operational architect behind Koi Studio’s success and strategic growth. With over 16 years of multifaceted experience, she orchestrates the company’s daily functions and serves as a vital partner to the CEO, building the essential frameworks that fuel ambitious goals and ensure flawless execution.

Katherine’s career is built on a robust foundation in both the technology and advertising sectors. She began at the tech firm Pass Consulting, where as an Operations Manager, she mastered the art of streamlining complex procedures across sales, marketing, and administration. This deep operational expertise prepared her for the fast paced advertising world, where she excelled as an Account Supervisor. There, she managed a portfolio of high profile clients like Western Union, DishLATINO, and Discovery en Español, proving her exceptional talent for building powerful brand relationships.

Outside of the studio, Katherine finds balance and expression through dance. She also invests her time passionately in local animal shelters, helping to raise community awareness and championing the “Adopt, Don’t Shop” movement.
